WAZA Tube Amp Expander Core System Program (Ver.1.03)
HOW TO TELL THE VERSION
Please check the version of the system working on your WAZA Tube Amp Expander Core before downloading the archive file.
- Turn [REACTIVE LOAD] knob counterclockwise (minimum, = COMBO).
- Turn [RIG] knob to No.6.
- Hold down [WRITE] button and Push [POWER] switch. Then it will turn on.
- If the indicators light up as described below, the system is at the latest version.
- The "INPUT SIG/PEAK" indicator is unlit.
- The "WRITE" indicator is unlit.
- The "POWER" indicator light up red.
If the indicators light up in a different way than just described, perform an update.
- When you have finished verifying the version, turn off the power.
* Don't perform the update if the product is already up-to-date.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE YOUR WAZA Tune Amp Expander Core
- WAZA Tube Amp Expander Core
- USB cable
* The update is carried out with the unit and the computer connected via USB.
* Provide a cable suitable for connection to the computer you're using.
- Computer (Windows or Mac) equipped with a USB port compliant with USB 2.0 or USB 3.0.
CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
- Never apply this update data to any product other than the WAZA Tube Amp Expander Core. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
- Never power-off your WAZA Tube Amp Expander Core while the update is in progress!
If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the WAZA Tube Amp Expander Core won't be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
- We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
GETTING THE UPDATE FILE
Please open/extract the downloaded "wtaecore_sys_v103.zip" file on your computer to get the two update files named "ROMINFO.TXT" and "TAE-CORE.bin" in the "wtaecore_sys_v103" folder.
Please make sure you have unzipped the downloaded update file.
PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE
Caution
- You must not rename the extracted file.
- Never turn off the WAZA Tube Amp Expander Core's power while the update is in progress. Otherwise the system program or the WAZA Tube Amp Expander Core itself may be destroyed.
Please install the extracted system program file into your WAZA Tube Amp Expander Core according to the following procedure.
- Turn [REACTIVE LOAD] knob counterclockwise (minimum, = COMBO).
- Turn [RIG] knob to No.10.
- Hold down [WRITE] button, and push [POWER] switch. Then it will turn on.
the LED "WRITE" are blinking red slowly.
- Connect the computer by a USB cable.
A "W-TAE CORE" icon (drive) appears on the computer.
- Open the "W-TAE CORE" icon.
Copy (drag and drop) all the files included in the extracted folder into the "W-TAE CORE" icon.
- After the copy is complete, eject the "W-TAE CORE" icon(drive) from the computer.
With Windows
Right-click on the "W-TAE CORE" icon in My Computer (or the "Removable Disk (*:)" icon) and execute "Eject."
With macOS
Drag the "W-TAE CORE" icon to the Trash icon in the Dock.
- Disconnect the USB cable form WAZA Tube Amp Expander Core. Then it will start updating.
the LED "SIG/PEAK" are blinking red slowly.
- When the update is complete, the LED "WRITE" and "SIG/PEAK" are blinking green slowly.
- Turn the WAZA Tube Amp Expander Core power off.
This completes the update operation. The new system program runs at the next startup.
Follow the procedure for verifying the version to verify that the version has been updated.
