GM-800 System Program (Ver.1.50)


HOW TO KNOW THE VERSION
Before you start, check the system program version of your GM-800.
  1. While holding down [ EXIT ] button, turn power ON.
    *Continue to hold down EXIT until the GM-800 logo appears on the display.
  2. After a short while, the version information appears on the display.
  3. After verifying the displayed version, turn off the power.

  • TRACKING MODE that prioritizes responsiveness and reduces latency has been added to GK SETTING.
    You can switch GK SETTING according to how you play.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE YOUR GM-800
  • GM-800
  • USB Memory
    * The USB Memory needs to be formatted on a GM-800.

CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
  • Never apply this update data to any product other than the GM-800. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
  • Never power-off your GM-800 while the update is in progress!
    If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the GM-800 won't be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.

GETTING THE UPDATE FILE
  1. Please open/extract the downloaded "gm800_sys_v150.zip" file on your computer to get the "gm800_sys_v150" folder.
  2. Please make sure you have unzipped the downloaded update file.
  3. Copy “GM-800_UPA_up.bin” to the level displayed immediately on accessing the USB flash drive (the USB flash drive's root directory).

PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE
Caution
  • You must not rename the extracted file.
  • Never turn off the GM-800's power while the update is in progress. Otherwise the system program or the GM-800 itself may be destroyed.
Please install the extracted system program file into your GM-800 according to the following procedure.
  1. Turn the power of the GM-800 off.
  2. Connect the USB flash drive in which you saved the “GM-800_UPA_up.bin” file to the GM-800.
  3. While pressing the [WRITE] button, turn on the power.
    *Continue pressing the [WRITE] button until “GM-800 UPDATER” appears.
  4. When the display indicates “UPDATE SUCCEEDED.”, turn the GM-800's power off.
  5. Disconnect the USB flash drive from the GM-800.
  6. After verifying the displayed version, turn off the power.
