Please check the version of the system working on your IR-2 before downloading the archive file.

1. Turn off the power (unplug the cable from the INPUT jack).
2. Set the type knob to “MODDED”.
3. Turn the [AMBIENCE], [LEVEL], [GAIN], [BASS], [MIDDLE], and [TREBLE] knobs all the way clockwise.
4. While holding down the pedal switch, turn on the power by inserting a plug into the INPUT jack.
   After the CHECK indicator lights up green, it repeatedly blinks red several times.
5. If the number of blinks is less than two times, update the unit.
   * If the number of blinks is three times, you have the latest version and do not need to update.
6. When you have finished verifying the version, turn off the power.

• USB Type-C® cable（Do not use a USB cable designed only for charging, as such cables cannot transmit data.）
  * The update is carried out with the unit and the computer connected via USB.
  * Please have on hand a USB cable that has one of the USB connectors just described and that is capable of being connected to the computer you're using.
• Computer (Windows or Mac) equipped with a USB port compliant with USB 2.0 or USB 3.0.
• AC adaptor: PSA series (sold separately)
  * To avoid losing power to the IR-2 during the update, connect an AC adapter or use brand new alkaline batteries.

• This program is exclusively for the IR-2. Never attempt to use it with any other product.
• We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.

1. Read the software license agreement at the bottom of the screen and select the "I agree" check box.
2. Click the "Download File" button to download the system program (ir2_sys_v102.zip).
3. Unarchive the downloaded file.
   • Windows: Right-click the file and select "Extract All," then click "Extract".
   • Mac: Double-click the file to unzip it.
   The extracted folder contains the system program update files.

[Caution]

• You must not rename the extracted file.
• Never turn off the unit power while the update is in progress. Doing so may cause malfunction. If such malfunction occurs, charged repairs may be necessary. You will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.

Please update your unit according to the following procedure.

1. Turn off the power (unplug the cable from the INPUT jack).
2. Set the type knob to “RFIER”.
3. Turn the [AMBIENCE], [LEVEL], [GAIN], [BASS], [MIDDLE], and [TREBLE] knobs all the way clockwise.
4. While holding down the pedal switch, turn on the power by inserting a plug into the INPUT jack.
   After the CHECK indicator lights up green, it repeatedly blinks green slowly.
   * To prevent IR-2 from losing power during the update, please connect an AC adapter (PSA series) or use new alkaline batteries.
5. Connect the IR-2 to the PC with a USB cable.
   "IR-2" drive appears on the computer screen.
6. Open the "IR-2" icon.
   "Removable Disk (*:)" may appear instead of the "IR-2" icon.
7. Copy (drag and drop) all the files included in the "ir2_sys_v102" folder into the "IR-2" icon.
   * Do not copy the "ir2_sys_v102" folder.
8. Disconnect the IR-2 from the computer.
   • Windows: Right-click on the "IR-2" icon in My Computer (or the "Removable Disk (*:)" icon) and execute "Eject."
   • Mac: Drag the "IR-2" icon to the Trash icon in the Dock.
   Once the USB drive has been ejected, the update begins.
   The check indicator rapidly blinks green quickly during the update.
   When the check indicator lights up green, the update is complete.
9. Turn off the power.
   This completes the update operation. The new system program runs at the next startup.
   Follow the procedure for verifying the version to verify that the version has been updated.
