KATANA-AIR System Program ( Ver.2.00 ) HOW TO TELL THE VERSION Please check the current version of the system working on your KATANA-AIR before downloading the file. Turn all knobs all the way counterclockwise. Turn off the power of the KATANA-AIR. While holding down the [CH A] button and [CH B] button, turn the power on. When all buttons except the [POWER] blink twice slowly, release the [CH A] and [CH B] buttons. All buttons except the [POWER] rapidly blink twice. See the combination of the indicator color (red/green/orange) of the [BST/MOD] button, [DELAY/FX] button, and [REVERB] button to confirm the current version. *If it indicates the latest version, no update is necessary. UPDATE HISTORY [Ver.2.00] OCT 2023 Additional Functions Newly added editing and Session features of BOSS TONE STUDIO for KATANA-AIR version 2.0.0 are now supported. “HM-2”, “METAL CORE” and “CENTA OD” have been added to the BOOSTER types. “PAN” has been added to the DELAY and DELAY2. *BOSS TONE STUDIO for KATANA-AIR version 2.0.0 or later is required in order to use the above. [Ver.1.30] NOV 2022 Additional Functions The FS-1-WL wireless foot switch is now supported. *The functions below are possible when using KATANA-AIR version 1.30 in combination with BOSS TONE STUDIO for KATANA-AIR version 1.2.0 or later. The Pedal switch (L, C, R) / CTL1,2 jack on the FS-1-WL can now be used to switch patches and turn effects on and off. You can control PEDAL WAH and FOOT VOLUME using the FS-1-WL pedal. It is now possible to use the BOSS TONE STUDIO for KATANA-AIR app to set the respective functions of the Pedal switch (L, C, R) / CTL1,2 jack and EXP jack. [Ver.1.20] JUL 2021 Additional Functions The EV-1-WL wireless MIDI expression pedal is now supported. *The functions below are possible when using KATANA-AIR version 1.20 in combination with BOSS TONE STUDIO for KATANA-AIR version 1.1 or later. You can control PEDAL WAH and FOOT VOLUME using the EV-1-WL pedal. The CTL1 and CTL2 jacks on the EV-1-WL can now be used to switch patches and turn effects on and off. It is now possible to use the BOSS TONE STUDIO for KATANA-AIR app to set the respective functions of the pedal and CTL1 and CTL2. WHAT YOU NEED FOR UPDATE KATANA-AIR USB cable (sold separately) Computer with USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 port (Windows/Mac) PRECAUTIONS Never apply this updater to any product other than the KATANA-AIR to avoid destroying data or the system program of other products. Never turn off the KATANA-AIR during the update process. If a power failure or other accident occurs while updating, the KATANA-AIR will not be able to start up with normal operating conditions. In this case, contact your nearest Roland Service Center or dealer for repair. Inquiries regarding the operating procedures for updating this system program are not supported. We appreciate your understanding. DOWNLOADING AND UNARCHIVING THE COMPRESSED FILE Read the software license agreement at the bottom of the screen and select the “I agree” check box. Click the “Download” button to download the system program (katana_air_sys_v200.zip). Unarchive the downloaded file. Windows: Right-click the file and select “Extract All,” then click “Extract”. macOS: Double-click the file to unzip it. “katana_air_sys_v200” folder appears. *DO NOT rename the files (KTNAIRRM.BIN, ROMINFO.TXT) in the folder. UPDATE PROCEDURE *While updating, connect the included AC adapter or use brand new alkaline or fully charged Ni-MH batteries. Turn on the power while pressing the [CH A] and [PANEL] buttons. [CH A] and [CH B] buttons blink. Connect KATANA-AIR and a computer with a USB cable. [CH A] and [CH B] buttons change from blinking to lit, and the BOSS_KATANA drive appears on the computer screen. Copy the updater “KTNAIRRM.BIN” and “ROMINFO.TXT” in the “katana_air_sys_v200” folder to the level displayed immediately on accessing the BOSS_KATANA drive (the BOSS_KATANA drive's root directory). After copying is complete, eject the BOSS_KATANA drive according to your OS specs or settings. *For Mac, drag the BOSS_KATANA drive to the trash icon. Disconnect the USB cable from the USB jack on the KATANA-AIR. *Be sure to disconnect it from the USB jack on the KATANA-AIR unit. When the [PANEL] button blinks, press the [PANEL] button. Update begins. *While the update is in progress, the [BST/MOD], [DELAY/FX], and [REVERB] buttons sequentially light up in red, orange, and green. *Never turn off the KATANA-AIR's power while the update is in progress. Otherwise, the system program or the KATANA-AIR itself may be destroyed. *When the update is complete, the [BST/MOD], [DELAY/FX], and [REVERB] buttons turn a slowly blinking green. *If the update fails, the [BST/MOD], [DELAY/FX], and [REVERB] buttons blink rapidly. Press and hold the [POWER] button. [POWER] button changes from green to orange light to enter standby mode. Press and hold the [POWER] button to turn off the power. Make sure it is updated to the latest version. CONCESSIONE IN LICENZA Roland concede all'utente i seguenti diritti non esclusivi per l’uso del SOFTWARE, in accordo con i termini del presente Contratto di licenza. (b) L'utente può effettuare una copia del SOFTWARE solo a fini di backup (su floppy disk, disco magneto-ottico, DAT o supporto similare), ma è vietato effettuare qualsiasi altra copia. 2. COPYRIGHT Il SOFTWARE e i suoi diritti d'autore sono proprietà di Roland e sono protetti dalle leggi e dai trattati internazionali sul copyright. Pertanto, l'utente deve trattare il SOFTWARE come qualsiasi altro materiale coperto da copyright (ovvero un libro o un CD). Tutti i diritti non esplicitamente concessi da questo contratto restano riservati a Roland. 3. ALTRE RESTRIZIONI (a) L'utente non è autorizzato a modificare, cambiare, decodificare, decompilare o disassemblare il SOFTWARE, la nota sul copyright e il logo coperto da copyright. È espressamente vietato copiare, caricare su un'altra rete, distribuire o modificare il presente software, nonché associarlo ad altri supporti o a qualsiasi altro articolo destinato alla vendita, senza autorizzazione. (b) L'utente non è autorizzato a prestare, noleggiare, concedere in locazione finanziaria, sublicenziare, vendere o trasferire il SOFTWARE, in tutto o in parte, a qualsivoglia terza parte. Tuttavia, è possibile trasferire in modo permanente il SOFTWARE e i materiali stampati di accompagnamento, a condizione che non si conservi alcuna copia del Software e che il destinatario accetti i termini del presente Contratto di licenza. Se il SOFTWARE è stato aggiornato, qualsiasi trasferimento del SOFTWARE deve includere l’aggiornamento più recente e tutte le versioni precedenti. (c) Se il presente SOFTWARE include più supporti (quali floppy disk e CD-ROM) contenenti lo stesso software, è consentito utilizzare esclusivamente il supporto idoneo per il proprio computer. Non è consentito utilizzare le restanti forme di supporto su un altro computer. (d) Non è consentito utilizzare il SOFTWARE da più postazioni di un sistema multi-utente o collegato in rete contemporaneamente. (e) Il SOFTWARE può utilizzare software open source e altri software di terze parti ("OSS, ecc."). In tal caso l'OSS, ecc. sarà soggetto alla licenza OSS, ecc. ("Licenza OSS"). Roland mostrerà l'OSS, ecc., utilizzato nei prodotti dell'azienda, sulla schermata del prodotto, sul sito web dell'azienda o nel manuale d'uso dei prodotti. L'utente dovrà verificare e rispettare la Licenza OSS. In caso di difformità tra i termini del presente Contratto di licenza e quelli della Licenza OSS, prevarrà la Licenza OSS e i termini del presente Contratto di licenza non saranno applicabili. 4. AGGIORNAMENTO SOFTWARE DEI PRODOTTI CONNESSI IN RETE Alcuni prodotti Roland (di seguito denominati "Tali Prodotti") possono essere connessi alla rete. Se Tali Prodotti sono connessi a una rete, gli utenti finali potrebbero di tanto in tanto essere in grado di scaricare gli aggiornamenti del SOFTWARE tramite la rete connessa. Se l'utente decide di utilizzare questa funzionalità e di scaricare un aggiornamento SOFTWARE tramite la rete connessa e d'installare tale SOFTWARE in Tali Prodotti, riconosce e accetta che potrebbero verificarsi aggiunte, modifiche o eliminazioni di qualsiasi funzione del SOFTWARE in seguito all'aggiornamento SOFTWARE. Roland non sarà responsabile per eventuali perdite o alterazioni di dati derivanti da un aggiornamento SOFTWARE scaricato e installato dall'utente. L'utente riconosce e accetta inoltre che il presente Contratto di licenza si applicherà anche all'aggiornamento SOFTWARE scaricato tramite la rete e installato. 5. ESCLUSIONI DI GARANZIA Roland non concede garanzie, espresse o implicite, in riferimento a qualsiasi parte del software, comprese, ma non limitate a, commerciabilità o idoneità del prodotto per uno scopo specifico. 5. LIMITAZIONE DI RESPONSABILITÀ Roland non può rispondere a richieste riguardanti questo aggiornamento del software di sistema. Si prega di leggere attentamente le istruzioni e di tenere presente che l'utilizzo del SOFTWARE avviene A PROPRIO RISCHIO. In nessun caso Roland può essere ritenuta responsabile verso gli utenti finali per eventuali danni, di qualsiasi natura, inclusi ma non limitati a danni finanziari per la perdita di profitti commerciali o informazioni commerciali derivati dall’uso, o dall’impossibilità di usare, questo prodotto. La precedente clausola è efficace anche se Roland fosse stata avvisata della possibilità di tali danni. Anche qualora il SOFTWARE presenti errori di programmazione materiali, verificabili e riproducibili, Roland non sarà ritenuta responsabile di correggere tali errori. 7. TERMINE DELLA LICENZA Roland si riserva il diritto di risolvere questo Contratto di licenza in caso di inadempimento da parte dell'utente di un qualsiasi termine del Contratto di licenza medesimo. A seguito di tale risoluzione, l'utente dovrà cessare immediatamente l'utilizzo del SOFTWARE. 8. NORME GENERALI (a) Qualsiasi disposizione del presente Contratto che risulti vietata o inapplicabile in una qualsiasi giurisdizione sarà priva di efficacia nei limiti di tale divieto o inapplicabilità, senza pregiudicare, compromettere o invalidare le restanti disposizioni del presente Contratto. (b) Roland può, a sua esclusiva discrezione, aggiornare i presenti Termini in qualsiasi momento. Qualsiasi modifica apportata da Roland ai presenti Termini si applicherà solo all'utilizzo che si verifica dopo la pubblicazione di tali modifiche online o in un luogo appropriato da parte di Roland. (b) Questo Contratto di licenza è governato e redatto secondo le leggi dello Stato della California senza riferimento ai principi dei conflitti giuridici.
