OS-2

Dual-Drive Design

The OS-2's overdrive circuit is rooted in the timeless design of the OD-1, one of the first BOSS compact pedals introduced in 1977. Asymmetrical clipping mimics the natural overdrive behavior of tube amps, creating plush, responsive midrange tones that are perfect for edge-of-breakup rhythms and expressive lead playing. Meanwhile, the OS-2’s finely tuned distortion circuit uses hard clipping to produce sharp, fat tones for heavy chord work and searing solos.

OS-2

One Knob, Many Colors

With its unique Color knob, OS-2 effortlessly transitions between overdrive, distortion, and distinctive combinations of the two types. Whether emulating the warm breakup of a pushed tube amp in electric blues, capturing the edgy crunch of classic rock, or nailing the intense saturation of grunge, this pedal excels at every turn. Enhance the clarity on the overdrive side with a touch of distortion. Or add midrange warmth to the distortion by mixing in some overdrive richness.

OS-2

Versatility Meets Simplicity

Handling any type of pickup with ease, the OS-2’s simple controls deliver a surprising array of complex driven tones. Twisting the Color knob mixes the overdrive and distortion circuits in parallel, providing a smoother, more articulate result than you can get by stacking two pedals in series. Once you find your preferred blend, dial it in with familiar knobs that include Level, Tone, and wide-ranging Drive that goes from subtle to aggressive.
