KATANA-AIR System Program ( Ver.2.00 ) HOW TO TELL THE VERSION Please check the current version of the system working on your KATANA-AIR before downloading the file. Turn all knobs all the way counterclockwise. Turn off the power of the KATANA-AIR. While holding down the [CH A] button and [CH B] button, turn the power on. When all buttons except the [POWER] blink twice slowly, release the [CH A] and [CH B] buttons. All buttons except the [POWER] rapidly blink twice. See the combination of the indicator color (red/green/orange) of the [BST/MOD] button, [DELAY/FX] button, and [REVERB] button to confirm the current version. *If it indicates the latest version, no update is necessary. UPDATE HISTORY [Ver.2.00] OCT 2023 Additional Functions Newly added editing and Session features of BOSS TONE STUDIO for KATANA-AIR version 2.0.0 are now supported. “HM-2”, “METAL CORE” and “CENTA OD” have been added to the BOOSTER types. “PAN” has been added to the DELAY and DELAY2. *BOSS TONE STUDIO for KATANA-AIR version 2.0.0 or later is required in order to use the above. [Ver.1.30] NOV 2022 Additional Functions The FS-1-WL wireless foot switch is now supported. *The functions below are possible when using KATANA-AIR version 1.30 in combination with BOSS TONE STUDIO for KATANA-AIR version 1.2.0 or later. The Pedal switch (L, C, R) / CTL1,2 jack on the FS-1-WL can now be used to switch patches and turn effects on and off. You can control PEDAL WAH and FOOT VOLUME using the FS-1-WL pedal. It is now possible to use the BOSS TONE STUDIO for KATANA-AIR app to set the respective functions of the Pedal switch (L, C, R) / CTL1,2 jack and EXP jack. [Ver.1.20] JUL 2021 Additional Functions The EV-1-WL wireless MIDI expression pedal is now supported. *The functions below are possible when using KATANA-AIR version 1.20 in combination with BOSS TONE STUDIO for KATANA-AIR version 1.1 or later. You can control PEDAL WAH and FOOT VOLUME using the EV-1-WL pedal. The CTL1 and CTL2 jacks on the EV-1-WL can now be used to switch patches and turn effects on and off. It is now possible to use the BOSS TONE STUDIO for KATANA-AIR app to set the respective functions of the pedal and CTL1 and CTL2. WHAT YOU NEED FOR UPDATE KATANA-AIR USB cable (sold separately) Computer with USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 port (Windows/Mac) PRECAUTIONS Never apply this updater to any product other than the KATANA-AIR to avoid destroying data or the system program of other products. Never turn off the KATANA-AIR during the update process. If a power failure or other accident occurs while updating, the KATANA-AIR will not be able to start up with normal operating conditions. In this case, contact your nearest Roland Service Center or dealer for repair. Inquiries regarding the operating procedures for updating this system program are not supported. We appreciate your understanding. DOWNLOADING AND UNARCHIVING THE COMPRESSED FILE Read the software license agreement at the bottom of the screen and select the “I agree” check box. Click the “Download” button to download the system program (katana_air_sys_v200.zip). Unarchive the downloaded file. Windows: Right-click the file and select “Extract All,” then click “Extract”. macOS: Double-click the file to unzip it. “katana_air_sys_v200” folder appears. *DO NOT rename the files (KTNAIRRM.BIN, ROMINFO.TXT) in the folder. UPDATE PROCEDURE *While updating, connect the included AC adapter or use brand new alkaline or fully charged Ni-MH batteries. Turn on the power while pressing the [CH A] and [PANEL] buttons. [CH A] and [CH B] buttons blink. Connect KATANA-AIR and a computer with a USB cable. [CH A] and [CH B] buttons change from blinking to lit, and the BOSS_KATANA drive appears on the computer screen. Copy the updater “KTNAIRRM.BIN” and “ROMINFO.TXT” in the “katana_air_sys_v200” folder to the level displayed immediately on accessing the BOSS_KATANA drive (the BOSS_KATANA drive's root directory). After copying is complete, eject the BOSS_KATANA drive according to your OS specs or settings. *For Mac, drag the BOSS_KATANA drive to the trash icon. Disconnect the USB cable from the USB jack on the KATANA-AIR. *Be sure to disconnect it from the USB jack on the KATANA-AIR unit. When the [PANEL] button blinks, press the [PANEL] button. Update begins. *While the update is in progress, the [BST/MOD], [DELAY/FX], and [REVERB] buttons sequentially light up in red, orange, and green. *Never turn off the KATANA-AIR's power while the update is in progress. Otherwise, the system program or the KATANA-AIR itself may be destroyed. *When the update is complete, the [BST/MOD], [DELAY/FX], and [REVERB] buttons turn a slowly blinking green. *If the update fails, the [BST/MOD], [DELAY/FX], and [REVERB] buttons blink rapidly. Press and hold the [POWER] button. [POWER] button changes from green to orange light to enter standby mode. Press and hold the [POWER] button to turn off the power. Make sure it is updated to the latest version. Contrato de Licença de Software da Roland O presente é um contrato jurídico entre si (pessoa singular ou coletiva) e a Roland Corporation (doravante designada por "Roland") referente à utilização deste produto de software (doravante designada por "SOFTWARE"). Leia atentamente os termos deste Contrato de Licença antes de instalar ou utilizar o SOFTWARE. Ao instalar, copiar ou iniciar a utilização do SOFTWARE, concorda com os termos deste Contrato de Licença. 1. CONCESSÃO DE LICENÇA A Roland concede-lhe os seguintes direitos não exclusivos de utilização do SOFTWARE, de acordo com os termos do presente Contrato de Licença. (a) Só pode utilizar o SOFTWARE num único computador específico de cada vez. A utilização do SOFTWARE inclui o carregamento do SOFTWARE na memória temporária (ou seja, RAM) ou a instalação do SOFTWARE num suporte de armazenamento (ou seja, disco rígido) do computador no qual irá utilizar o SOFTWARE. (b) Pode fazer uma cópia do SOFTWARE apenas para fins de cópia de segurança (em disquete, disco magneto-óptico, DAT ou suporte semelhante), mas é proibido fazer qualquer outra cópia. 2. DIREITOS DE AUTOR O SOFTWARE e os seus direitos de autor são propriedade da Roland e estão protegidos por todas as leis e tratados internacionais de direitos de autor. Assim, deve tratar o SOFTWARE como qualquer outro material protegido por direitos de autor (ou seja, um livro ou um CD). (b) Não poderá emprestar, alugar, arrendar, sublicenciar ou transferir o SOFTWARE, seja no todo ou em parte, a terceiros. Mas pode transferir permanentemente o SOFTWARE e os materiais impressos que o acompanham, desde que não conserve cópias do Software e que o destinatário concorde com os termos deste Contrato de Licença. Se o SOFTWARE tiver sido atualizado ou melhorado, qualquer transferência do SOFTWARE deverá incluir a atualização mais recente e todas as versões anteriores. (c) Se este SOFTWARE contiver vários modelos de suportes (como disquetes e CD-ROM) e esses suportes contiverem o mesmo software, apenas poderá utilizar a forma de suporte adequada para o seu computador. Não deverá utilizar o(s) restante(s) formato(s) de suporte noutro computador. (d) Não pode utilizar o SOFTWARE a partir de várias localizações de um sistema multiutilizador ou em rede ao mesmo tempo. (e) O SOFTWARE pode utilizar software de código aberto e outro software de terceiros ("OSS, etc."). Neste caso, o OSS, etc. estará sujeito à licença do OSS, etc. ("Licença do OSS"). A Roland apresentará o OSS, etc. utilizado nos produtos da Empresa no ecrã dos produtos, no website da Empresa ou no Manual do Proprietário dos produtos. Deve consultá-los e cumprir a Licença do OSS. Se houver alguma diferença entre os termos deste Contrato de Licença e a Licença do OSS, a Licença do OSS prevalecerá e os termos deste Contrato de Licença não se aplicarão. 4. ATUALIZAÇÃO DO SOFTWARE DE PRODUTOS LIGADOS A UMA REDE Alguns produtos Roland podem ser ligados à rede (doravante designados por "Tais Produtos"). Se Tais Produtos estiverem ligados a uma rede, os utilizadores finais poderão, periodicamente, transferir atualizações de SOFTWARE através da rede ligada. Se decidir utilizar esta funcionalidade e transferir uma atualização de SOFTWARE através da rede ligada e instalar esse SOFTWARE em Tais Produtos, reconhece e concorda que poderão ocorrer adições, alterações ou eliminações de qualquer função do SOFTWARE como resultado da atualização do SOFTWARE. A Roland não será responsável por qualquer perda ou alteração de dados resultante de uma atualização de SOFTWARE transferida e instalada por si. Reconhece e concorda também que este Contrato de Licença também se aplicará à atualização de SOFTWARE que transferiu através da rede e instalou. 5. SEM GARANTIA A Roland não oferece qualquer garantia, expressa ou implícita, relativamente a qualquer software, incluindo, sem limitação, quaisquer garantias implícitas de comercialização ou adequação a uma finalidade específica. 6. SEM RESPONSABILIDADE A Roland não pode responder a perguntas sobre este atualizador de software do sistema. Leia as instruções na íntegra e note que deve utilizar o SOFTWARE POR SUA CONTA E RISCO. Em caso algum a Roland será responsável perante os utilizadores finais por quaisquer danos, incluindo, entre outros, danos financeiros por qualquer perda de lucros ou informações decorrentes da utilização ou da impossibilidade de utilização deste produto. A disposição anterior é efetiva mesmo que a Roland tenha sido avisada da possibilidade de tais danos. Mesmo que o SOFTWARE apresente erros de programação materiais, verificáveis e reprodutíveis, a Roland não terá qualquer obrigação de corrigir tais erros. 7. RESCISÃO DA LICENÇA A Roland reserva-se o direito de rescindir este Contrato de Licença caso não cumpra qualquer uma das suas cláusulas. Após o término do contrato, deverá interromper imediatamente a utilização do SOFTWARE. 8. GERAL (a) Qualquer disposição do presente Contrato que seja proibida ou inexequível em qualquer jurisdição será ineficaz na medida de tal proibição ou inexequibilidade, sem afetar, prejudicar ou invalidar as demais disposições aqui contidas. (b) A Roland poderá, a seu exclusivo critério, atualizar os presentes Termos a qualquer momento. Quaisquer alterações que a Roland faça a estes Termos só serão aplicadas à sua utilização que ocorra após a Roland publicar essas alterações online ou num local apropriado. (c) O presente Contrato de Licença será regido e interpretado de acordo com as leis do Estado da Califórnia, sem ter em conta os princípios de conflito de leis.
