Cutting-Edge Creative Power from Two Modern Innovators

Top-level guitarists dare to be different, and are never afraid to step forward and let their individual voices shine. To support their ambitious artistic drive, they look to innovators like Strandberg and BOSS for state-of-the-art tools that inspire the creation of all-new sounds and groundbreaking musical ideas. Now, these two pioneering companies have joined forces to introduce one of the most powerful and versatile electric guitars ever made.

The V-BDN is a trailblazing new instrument that fuses the compelling designs of Swedish guitar maker Strandberg with the advanced guitar synth and modeling technologies from BOSS. Based on the popular Boden J Standard model, the V-BDN includes all the unique design features that have made Strandberg guitars so appealing to forward-thinking players everywhere. The V-BDN’s onboard BOSS tech extends the instrument into uncharted tonal realms, with a large sound palette of guitar, synth, and bass sounds to choose from, plus instant access to full-instrument drop tunings with the turn of a single knob.

Offered in a limited production run, the inspiring V-BDN gives modern guitarists a bold new voice with unlimited creative freedom, backed by the renowned innovations of two of the most progressive companies in the musical instrument industry.

Authentic Boden Model with Innovative Strandberg Design Features

The V-BDN is based on the Boden style, the original Strandberg shape that combines excellent ergonomics with a uniquely stylish aesthetic design. Its materials have been carefully chosen to provide versatile tones for all types of music, with quick, punchy response and organic, resonant sound. The contoured body shape allows multiple comfortable seated playing positions, while the low weight saves your shoulders and neck. The patented EndurNeck shape relaxes muscles, joints, and tendons in your hand, wrist, and forearm, encouraging a more correct playing position. Another standout aspect of the Strandberg Boden is its custom hardware made from lightweight aircraft-grade aluminum, which provides highly effective transfer of string vibrations into the wood.

Onboard BOSS V-Guitar Tech for Powerful Versatility and Maximum Sonic Creativity

BOSS’s famous V-Guitar technologies are the perfect complement to the innovative, modern design approach of the Strandberg Boden. Via a multi-position mode selector, you have quick access to all types of modeled humbucking and single-coil guitar pickups, plus bass sounds, acoustic guitars, synths, and more. And with a twist of the tuning knob, you can go from standard tuning to five different down tunings, all without adjusting the actual string tension at all! The V-Guitar tech is powered by four AA batteries, and you can easily monitor battery status from the front of the instrument. And don’t worry—if the batteries ever run out, you can seamlessly switch to standard Boden guitar operation without a hitch.

Mode Selector Functions

The V-BDN has a five-position mode selector knob that provides access to 25 onboard sounds. Each position makes five different sounds available from the guitar’s five-way blade selector switch.
Position 1—Engages the guitar’s normal humbucking pickups.
Position 2—Modeled single-coil pickup sounds.
Position 3—Modeled humbucking pickup sounds.
Position 4—Hybrid sounds: bass; humbucker w/octave down on strings 5 and 6; electric sitar; nylon-string acoustic; steel-string acoustic.
Position 5—Synthesizer: string synth lead; synth organ; GR-300 lead variations (octave down, normal, octave up).

Tuning Knob Functions

The six-position tuning knob on the V-BDN provides instant access to standard tuning and five virtual down tunings.
Position 1—Standard tuning.
Position 2—E flat tuning (all strings a semitone down).
Position 3—D tuning (all strings a whole step down).
Position 4—Drop D (D-A-D-G-B-E).
