October 20, 2016, Los Angeles, CA — BOSS announces the availability of the Katana guitar amps and the GT-1 Guitar Effects Processor. Born of the Waza amp development process, the new BOSS Katana guitar amp series offers rock sound, intuitive controls, and built-in BOSS effects, including five selectable amp characters and access to 55 customizable BOSS effects, with the ability to use up to three at once.

The Katana lineup consists of three combo amplifiers and an amplifier head. The 50-watt Katana-50 and 100-watt Katana-100 are each equipped with a custom 12-inch speaker. The Katana-100/212 has 100 watts of power and is equipped with two custom 12-inch speakers. The 100-watt Katana-Head is designed for use with an external speaker cabinet such as the Waza Amp Cabinet 412, but includes a convenient integrated monitor speaker for tone preview and practice.

Driven by BOSS’s flagship GT-series engine, the compact GT-1 Guitar Effects Processor delivers world-class amps and over 100 effects types. Its portable design features a built-in expression pedal and easy-to-use, streamlined interface. The Easy Select function allows users to quickly find patches by genre, distortion, or effect type; Easy Edit lets them tweak drive, modulation, and echo tones.

U.S. Street prices are as follows: Katana-100 – $329; Katana-100/212 – $499; Katana-50 – $199; Katana Head – $349; GT-1 – $199.
